Horizon Problem (No Inflation)

The ΛCDM Tension

The CMB is uniform to 10⁻⁵ across tens of thousands of patches that, under standard expansion, were never in causal contact: a conversation the model's light cones forbid. Inflation rents a solution, one micro-patch stretched beyond the horizon, at the price of an unidentified field, a tuned potential, a smooth initial patch that restates the problem, and signatures (primordial B-modes) that decades of searching have not found.

The ΛCDM Assumption That Creates It

The problem is manufactured by the singular origin itself: if everything began at one t = 0 and causal contact thereafter spreads at light speed from pointlike beginnings, uniformity across the sky requires either impossible signaling or a designed epoch to fake shared history. The assumption that thermalization had to happen by equilibration is the load-bearing error.

SCT Resolution: M1 (Uniformity by Simultaneity, Not Conversation)

SCT's origin event needs no conversation. When two pockets intersect at relative velocity above c, the intersection front sweeps the overlap volume faster than any internal signal can travel: the entire region is engulfed and thermalized essentially simultaneously, before any part of it could warn or equilibrate with any other (P22, P24). Uniformity is then a birthmark, not an achievement, one event depositing one thermodynamic state across the whole volume at once, with the phase-velocity geometry doing what inflation hires a field to do (P43: heating propagates at the front's superluminal phase velocity while information still moves at c, so causality is never violated). The horizon problem dissolves because the horizon was never asked to carry the uniformity.

The same single replacement covers flatness in the same stroke (the virialized remnant settles to near-critical balance), which is the economy the framework keeps exhibiting: P24 names it explicitly, one assumption change resolving the horizon, flatness, perturbation, and related puzzles as a set rather than one rental at a time. The residual anisotropies are the deposition pattern's fingerprints, the same collision-geometry heterogeneity read in the Cold Spot and the low multipoles.

Two premises carry the dissolution; the derivation opens Paper 1, From Chaos to Convergent Foundations, Section 1, with the superluminal-intersection physics of P20 through P23 establishing why the encounter violates nothing in special relativity.

Falsifier

The accounts part ways at the tensor sky: inflation generically stretches gravitational waves into a primordial B-mode background, while simultaneous thermalization leaves r below 10⁻⁵. A confirmed detection at r above 0.01 (CMB-S4, LiteBIRD) establishes the inflationary epoch and falsifies SCT's origin outright; continued silence as sensitivity deepens leaves uniformity-by-simultaneity holding the field without the rental.
